lyrics
Sit in the green grass
Dew in your doey eyes
Holding that ripped shirt
What a surprise
You keep it like a secret
Everywhere you go
Tell me does it keep you warm
From the Halifax snow
Don't stop calling now, my dear
You've found me out
No one stays the same
This I am told
But it's one thing to know
And another to grasp or hold
So keep yourself a secret
From everyone you know
Tell me who keeps you warm
From the Halifax snow
Don't stop calling now, my dear
You've found me out
As I boarded the plane, all I could think about was the mess that I was leaving behind me. Short bursts of apologetic speeches left unmade clanged around the edges of my mind like a rusty coin in an old dryer. You once said to me that as we grow older we start to leave pieces of ourselves everywhere we go. Looking out along the wing I can feel portions missing from my quickly sodiating body. Montreal and Eygalieres both took limbs from us, from me - there is no more us. Us has been laid to rest without any bits left to take, buried hastily under the pavement on Coburg Road. We're taking off now and I can't help but start to cry. I know I'll never see those parts of myself again - of us, of me. We're in the air now and with the wings of a giant metal bird I'm gone, gone, far, far away for a long, long time. An opportunity wasted. I felt my side and realized another piece was missing. Lying lifeless at the front of the cabin invisible to all eyes save those that lay beneath lenses of salt water, mourning their own corporeal losses. It must have fallen off as I boarded the plane...
This creative San Francisco guitar band melds trip hop, krautrock, My Bloody Valentine-esque noise, and jangle pop hooks. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 19, 2024
Tacoma's Karass whittled these bleak dream-pop gems from free-form jams, and the rhythms that rattle through them have a live energy. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 24, 2021

I downloaded this album onto my flip-phone after being discharged from the psych ward. Coming off a manic ep; I found it incredibly good walking music, I'd walk along the town belt listening to these songs or the local radio. Honey Wire was also my ringtone for a little while. Complicated and lovely music. elayna
